Hello and welcome to my blog! This is my first post! I’m honestly welcoming myself! But if anyone else reads this, you are welcome, too. And also I’m Nyelah. I want this blog to be PLACE where I can flesh out ideas and write about what I’m watching and reading and thinking about. A place where I can also revisit and rework ideas and thoughts with no real pressure … tending to my own virtual garden.

“Looking for Eyelets” is also the name of a short web series I did on inst*gram with Interns where I focused on portals/eyelets/gaps/cracks/chasms…moments of rupture that break open space for us to see the world as otherwise or outside of imperialist logics or, as Saidiya Hartman writes, “the time and place better than here; a glimpse of the earth not owned by anyone.” Looking for/making these moments in life and in stories and things.
